Bicycles for Humanity is dedicated to collecting and shipping bicycles to impoverished women, children, and healthcare workers in Africa. B4H is a global grass roots campaign, with over 50 chapters in 8 different countries.
Bicycles solve the problem of mobility in rural Africa. They allow children to attend school. They enable women to obtain water more quickly and in greater volumes. They permit healthcare workers to visit more people, making them 3 to 4 times more productive. And they allow people to transport more materials to sell in the market. Bicycles simply change lives.
The Chicago chapter hopes to send its first set of 500 bicycles in 2016. You can help! Please donate your used bicycle by sending us a message on our "contact" page. Given the terrain in Africa, we prefer mountain bikes, but we are willing to take any bicycles, including ones needing minor repairs. You can also contribute to our cause by donating money. All funds are used to pay the cost of shipping a container of bicycles overseas.
If you would like to join the B4H Chicago movement, please contact us! We would love your help!
